Happy Fourth! As we reach the midpoint of 2024, I find myself reflecting on my fitness journey thus far. I think about the personal training goals I set for myself at the beginning of the year and where I am halfway through. I celebrate the victories I have made and also take some time to re-evaluate the areas of my fitness routine where I could put in a little more effort.
Whether you are just starting your fitness journey or continuing to build on years of dedication, taking a moment to reflect on your progress is crucial. Remember, it's not about the pounds you have lost or the miles you have run, but rather, the small victories, big or small, that you have achieved.
So, I would encourage you this holiday weekend to take some time to review and update your fitness goals for 2024.
Start by listing what you’ve accomplished so far. Did you start a new workout program? Have you been more mindful about your nutrition? Or perhaps you have improved your strength or endurance? Recognize these wins!
Next, evaluate your goals. Are they aligned with what you want to achieve and what's important to you right now? If not, change them so that they are.
Set realistic targets. Based on your current progress, set some realistic fitness goals for the next three months. Small, manageable goals can lead to big changes!
Plan your actions. Determine what small changes need to happen to reach your new goals. These can be small habits such as increasing your daily steps by 1K each week or adding more protein to your breakfast.
Seek support and engage. When you have a like-minded fitness community and support from others, you will succeed. That is exactly what you will get when you join my personal training program—whether it's in-person or virtual.
Remember, every step forward is worth celebrating. Fitness is a personal journey that thrives with consistency, not perfection. So let’s keep striving, pushing, and supporting each other to achieve the fitness goals we have set for ourselves.
